❤︎ About the Artist

Hello there! I'm Marie, you can also call me Cryptid. I'm 24, I use they/them, and I'm an agender artist!Much of my art focuses on cozy, cute, and colorful subjects at the moment, but I hope to make more story driven and experimental projects exploring themes of mental illness, trauma, disability, community, and LGBT+ identities.I've been writing and developing my OCs for years, and I hope someday I'm able to tell their stories through art and animation!Outside of art, my other interests include animated tv/films, fashion dolls, toy collecting, web-coding, minecraft, paleontology, cryptozoology, aliens, vocaloid, and rock +subgenres music! Here are some of my favorite things!
Favorite Food/Drink: frozen coffee, lemons, burritos, slushies, musubi, and veggies.
Favorite TV Shows: Because this is my first life, Dungeon Meshi, Centarworld, and Clannad.

❤︎ Frequently Asked Questions

What tablet, software, and brushes do you use?
I use an iPad 6th gen, Apple Pencil, and Procreate. My brushes are Jingsketch's Basic 10
and Azu's Brushset (cannot find a download link for this anymore, sorry x.x)
How long have you been drawing? Did you go to school for art or are you self taught?
I've been drawing since the summer of 2012 when I was 13 yo, so pretty late compared to a lot of artists who say they've been drawing since they could hold a pencil. I was originally a writer, but it turns out I like drawing a lot more! I'm self taught, but I have taken a ton of courses and read a lot of books on art anatomy, character design, animation, and rendering.
What resources do you reccomend for learning art?
Color and Light: A Guide for the Realist Painter by James Gurney, Morpho: Fat and Skin Folds by Michel Lauricella, The Animator's Survival Kit by Richard Williams, Line of Action,
